Around Camp

the parts in between

Not just the houses

As much as camp is the three houses, it’s also everything connecting them — the path down through the trees, the creek that cuts across the property, and the little red shed that’s been there longer than any of us can say why. It looks different in every season, and somehow good in all of them.

The footbridge

The Lake House sits across the creek from the Lodge and the Cabin — this footbridge is what connects them. Just a short walk, in any weather.

Who else is around

Keep an eye on the sky over the beach — this one was flying over camp on an October evening.

And keep an eye on the deck at night, too — Gus the raccoon stops by often enough that he’s basically a regular.

Things to do on the property

Sometimes the best part of camp is staying put.

  • Swim, float, or relax at the beach
  • Enjoy the dock and lake views
  • Paddle the bay by kayak, canoe, or paddle boat (coordinate with Karen)
  • Fish from the dock or shoreline
  • Gather around the fire pit
  • Watch for loons, bald eagles, deer, turtles, and other wildlife
  • Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise over the water
  • Spend an evening stargazing under Adirondack skies

See the houses themselves: the Lodge, the Cabin, and the Lake House.
